Daisy's Story:

Daisy came was rescued from a kill pen and lived at a woman’s home in southern Washington– she loved her dearly, but after only a month, she realized Daisy was too small for her.  She really wanted Daisy to go somewhere special, and we were looking for a rescue that could be paired with one of our 4-H-ers.  Daisy is in her late twenties, but thinks and acts like she’s a young lady!  Daisy and her turnout partner Rex are best friends.

She was already saddle and bridle trained when she arrived, so we worked on developing trust and manners.  She’s been learning how to stand nicely and not rush – and has been doing great in 4-H.  Her groundwork has come a long way. She has a great gait and is a pleasure to ride, although she needs a confident rider for cantering.  She is a favorite with our volunteers and has helped many new volunteers work on their groundwork and riding.  We feel safe putting children on her back and she is a smart girl and is eager to learn.

She may be a senior citizen, but this bright girl has a lot more to give.
